Excess/Umbrella Liability
Provides your business with additional liability coverage to ensure protection against any claims exceeding your General Liability policy limits. Without this, you could be obligated to pay out of pocket for legal fees, medical bills, and damage expenses that exceed the limits of your underlying primary business coverages.
What Does It Cover?
General Liability - From faulty products to customer injury, accidents occurring at your business can easily exceed your liability limits.
EPLI - Protect your self from libel lawsuits and reputation damage by ensuring you have enough coverage to protect you in case of a lawsuit
Commercial Auto Liability - Accidents involving multiple vehicles and injuries can add up quickly. Between vehicle damage, property damage & medical bills, a claim can turn ruinously expensive in an instant. Can also include additional protection for Hired/Non-Owned Autos as well.
How Does It Work?
Underlying Protection Must Be In Place - An Excess/Umbrella policy will only offer protection for a pre-existing underlying policy. Without a Commercial Auto policy in place, an Excess/Umbrella policy will not cover any auto related claims.
Claim Exceeds Underlying Policy Limits - Once a claim reaches your policy limit, the Excess/Umbrella coverage will kick in to cover the remaining amount, saving you from being responsible to pay for all remaining costs.
Does Not Cover Property or Professional Liability Claims - Coverage does not include protection for your business property or any claims made for professional liability including legal fees or defense costs.
